Shehrezade Mian is a Pakistani-Canadian producer based in Toronto. As a child she grew up in 5 different countries, speaking 5 different languages, and developed a keen interest storytelling, visual art and social work.
Her love for these three mediums birthed her desire to create impact-driven films about South Asian and Muslim communities around the world. Through her narrative and documentary work, Mian seeks to challenge stereotypes, reclaim narratives, and confront audiences with the intent to encourage social, cultural, and political change within these communities.
As part of her ongoing commitment to amplify South Asian stories and talent, Shehrezade also routinely mentors emerging South Asians who seek mentorship or placement when beginning a career in Film and TV.
