Markhor Pictures is a Toronto and Pakistan-based production company focused on championing unique voices from across the globe, with an emphasis on auteur-driven and formally innovative storytelling. The company was founded in 2021 by producer Shehrezade Mian, an alumna of the TIFF–Netflix Talent Accelerator, EAVE Access, and the Rotterdam Producers Lab.

Markhor’s projects include Concrete Valley (2022) by Antoine Bourges, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and had its international premiere at the Berlinale in 2023. Work produced and developed under Markhor Pictures has been featured in leading industry outlets such as The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, Criterion Daily, MUBI Notebook, CinemaScope, and The Globe and Mail.

Rooted in Shehrezade Mian’s longstanding ties to both Canada and Pakistan, Markhor Pictures is committed to supporting marginalized, immigrant, South Asian, and Muslim filmmakers. Alongside its production slate, the company runs a mentorship initiative for emerging South Asian and Muslim filmmakers
